The current emergency decree in Thailand is set to expire on May 31 2020.
Today Thailand’s National Security Council announced it will ask The Cabinet to extend the current emergency decree for one more month.
According to Thai Rath, National Security Council secretary-general Gen Somsak Rungsita announced that the emergency decree should remain in place until June 31 due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
Saying that extending the current emergency decree would help to prevent a possible second wave of COVID-19 infections.
The recommendation will be sent to the Cabinet and the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration for consideration.
