The spokesman of the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, announced the total number of Covid-19 disease cases has increased by only one to 3,034 and that there had been no Covid-19 related deaths in the last 24-hours
Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul says he believes that once businesses open up, most people will adapt to the “new normal” which includes maintaining social distancing, wearing face masks in public and sanitizing, and washing hands as frequent as possible to avoid any contamination.
“Thailand’s situation has greatly improved as can be seen from the number of positive cases and the number of those who have fully recovered,” he said. “The ministry has appropriated more than 5 billion THB for the development of a vaccine and we have already stockpiled antiviral drugs.”
The minister said he was pleased that Songklanagarind Hospital was successful in treating Covid-19 patients with blood plasma until they fully recovered.
“However, further study will be required since the Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute has tried to use this treatment and was not successful,” he said.
